On attaque! 24 September 2007 New succession laws introduced by Sarkozy make French purchase more straightforward. One of the most important and relevant reforms introduced by Sarkozy has been the abolition of succession tax between spouses and PACS partners. The surviving spouse/partner no longer needs to submit a succession tax return. The tax free allowance for children is set to triple from EUR50,000 to EUR150,000 per person.
